M*A*P of the World
Hello and welcome to M*A*P of the World. This web site is a kind of offshoot of thoughts I have had after watching weeks of war news on the TV and hearing the chat and concern of people in conversations, and on Social Media.

My first instinct was to make some music and perhaps a video as some kind of antidote to this barrage of news. I have been viscerally reminded of the days of Dr. King and the initial peace movement of the sixties consisting of, among other elements, music by Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Buffy Sainte-Marie and many others. In those days the idea of peace seemed destined to be blown away by the winds of war, but the movement persisted, was eventually accepted, and grew to play a prodigious role in the ending of the Vietnam war.
So it dawned on me to record a version of Dylan's “Blowin' In The Wind” and make a video which reflected the growth of “peace conciousness" back in those days. I have done so, but, like everyone, continue to experience the relentless news casts etc. and therefor I took the decision to simply make a kind of refuge where I can play the music of others, share some poetry, and some beautiful artwork. I had used the terms "music," "art," and "peace" when posting the Dylan tune and seeing that the first letters taken together spelled "map" decided to name this refuge MAP of the World. To my surprise the URL was available and there we have it.
If you've come to visit I hope you too might find some respite, or just take a moment to hear or see or read something you like.
My partner Carol L. Edwards has provided the painting of the maple leaves on this page.
The website will remain revenue neutral, neither charging artists or visitors to be here, nor paying any fees.
M*A*P of the World has no political affiliation whatsoever and is more-less a personal diary of experiences in music and art.
Welcome...enjoy...
